One Piece remake anime is coming
The One Piece remake will be directed by Masashi Koizuka, best known for his work on Attack on Titan. Hideaki Abe from Jujutsu Kaisen will serve as assistant director. Taku Kishimoto, writer of the anime Haikyu!!!, will be on the script side.
Key team members also include character designer and lead animation director Kyoji Asano of Spy x Family fame. Takatoshi Honda as the lead animation director and action animators Ken Imaizumi and Shuhei Fukuda will also be involved in the series.
In fact, it should be reminded that One Piece anime has been airing weekly in Japan since 1999. This series, produced by Toei Animation, will receive both visual and narrative upgrades with Netflix.
The revamped One Piece anime will be WIT Studio’s first adaptation of the manga written by Eiichiro Oda. The series aims to introduce the story to new audiences with its 16:9 visuals and animation quality.
It was stated that the remake will cover the East Blue Saga and then move on to other episodes. It will also only be available on Netflix worldwide. According to the streaming giant, viewers will “experience One Piece like never before” thanks to WIT Studio’s top-notch production quality.
